This is the first part of the Fitzwilliam Virginal book. A book created by a prisoner in the Tower of London, in the 17th century. He was believed to have been from a cornish noble family probably jailed for his catholic views. While in Jail, to amuse himself and for something to play he made a manuscript of pieces for keyboard instruments of the time. One such is the Virginal a small harpsichord popular as home entertainment. These pieces could also have been played on a Clavichord (simple piano ish), or a small organ. They work well on both. John Bull was a noted composer and performer on the organ. For more information try (composer) . Hope you enjoy this. It is recorded binaurally, and is the first of many from this virginal collection.
