Contrary to popular belief, this team does not have roots in New Zealand, but its real homeland is Barbados. It was formed in 1968, when the “golden musical era” reigned on the island. At that time, Americanized soul and pop, mixed with calypso and doo wop and seasoned with local folklore, dominated in Barbados, but some deviations from the “general line” were already emerging. Thus, drummer-vocalist Errol Bradshaw, who had previously warmed up in the funk ensemble The Blue Rhythm Combo, discovered psychedelia that arrived from the world's rock centers with the recordings of Hendrix and Cream. And although this style was alien to the Caribbean islands, the drummer found like-minded people in the person of songwriter and singing guitarist Michael Bishop and bassist Merlin Norville, who also wanted to play something heavier.
