Imprimé en République Fédérale d’Allemagne. Made in Germany It is quite ironic that this Frank Farian-produced album hit No.1 in Germany in March 1983, yet you never hear anything about it these days ... the reason is of course that it was a novelty record, cashing in on the Aerobic craze of the early 80s, and Farian’s creative input was very limited. Actress Sydne Rome (b. 17 March 1951) fronted the project which was accompanied with video workouts on VHS and Betamax with voice-overs in German, Italian, Spanish and Hungarian. It was a medley of the biggest hits of 1982, interspersed with a number of Farian’s own productions - Boney M.’s Ma Baker, Holi-Holiday, Bahama Mama, Calendar Song, and Boonoonoonoos - Precious Wilson’s Race Track and I Don’t Know - La Mama’s In And Out, Moonlight, and Voulez-Vous Coucher Avec Moi. With the huge success of the album (it spent 11 weeks in the German Top 10), Farian rushed Precious Wilson into the studio to record a vocal version of the theme track, Let’s Move Aerobic, a title which Precious apparently hated herself and refused to perform, this leading to her relationship with Farian turning sour. Her single was a flop. Farian tried to recycle most of the Aerobic material without the voice-overs on his MAD For Dancin’ album later in the year, but found no success with that either
