Обе они генерируют знание, и обе конструируют метафоры, но делают это по-разному. Почему искусство и наука стремятся друг к другу, в чем ценность их взаимодействия — этих вопросов коснется лекция чилийских исследователей. Также авторы лекции сравнят историю развития и особенности направлений кибернетики и art & science, с особым акцентом на их распространение в Латинской Америке. Artists and scientists Marcelo Velasco and Ignacio Nieto will discuss contemporary practices in art & science that reveal the similarities between these seemingly different fields. Both generate knowledge, and both construct metaphors, though they use distinct approaches. Why do art and science tend to gravitate towards each other, and what is the value of their interaction? These are some of the questions that the Chilean researchers will address in their lecture. The lecturers will also compare the history and distinctive features of cybernetics and art & science, with a particular focus on their development in Latin America.
