I got this rusty antique axe head for $4. I this was a nice tool restoration project once again and I leaned a ton. This was my second axe restoration. Go check out the first one too! I started by polisihing the axe and sharpening so it shaves. I also restorerd the edge to better condition as the previous owner had sharpened it very badly. Rremoving the axe head turned out to be tricky as the eye of the axe was filled with something other than wood. I had to drill it full of holes but id didn’t bread and it was still very tight. But luckily I managed to get it out after a while of hammering. The handle I made from local ash lumber which I sawed with my dad’s giant DIY band saw. I dried the wood and shaped the handle. The smaller wedge I added last was actually a piece of wood that chipped when I was shaping the handle and I thought I’d put it back in right where it was. That turned out looking great. Thansk for whatching my project. Please let me know what you thought and subscribe for future videos!
