Spain is flooded with rain, resulting in floods that take lives! A man died early this morning after a record-breaking storm caused widespread flooding in the Spanish region of Murcia. The victim was sleeping in his home in the town of Javali Viejo when the strong flood broke through the walls of his house and dragged him 300 meters down the block. Murcia firefighters said they also rescued “many people from their homes“ in the same area. During the night, a storm hit Murcia with lightning, strong winds and record rain. Murcia's emergency services said they responded to 440 related incidents. Emergency teams in Catalonia received 973 calls to 586 incidents due to torrential rains that hit the province of Tarragona. Among the affected areas are Tarragona, Salou and Vila Seca. Heavy rains have caused flooding, landslides, road and highway closures, rail suspensions and power outages.
