This is my second 2021 Giant Fathom 29 2. The fork makes the same noise as the last one. I just plan on riding it I guess. I still have no idea if the noise is a problem. I don't notice any play anywhere in the front end. If you have any tips, please comment below! Update: Today I spoke with a more knowledgeable Giant mechanic over the phone. He said that it is a problem that he would expect to get worse over time. Without taking it apart he couldn't be sure what the problem is, but assumed that the valve is slamming shut as soon as the fork starts to rebound, and that a possible fix would be to add more oil. He said he was only taking a guess at it though, because these forks are so new, that he hasn't had one apart yet. They submitted a warranty claim. I don't know enough about forks or how they work to know if he is on the right track or not, but he is at least eager to help. Thanks Village Bike Shop in Grand Rapids, MI Update: This is the response from Giant. “We have located the cause of the click. Another retailer sent the image below. The small disc was floating around inside the lockout cap when it should have been installed between the adjustment knob and lockout cap. Please remove the lockout cap to take a look. If the plastic piece is not there then a thin piece of packing foam can be used to quiet the click. This will be placed between the knob and lockout cap.“
