Since then they work together under the name The Amalgamation Of Soundz, having released plenty 12” on different labels such as Filter, Ubiquity, Airtight. They both live in London for many years now and are long-time members of the local underground dance scene, and highly-rated DJs as well. Having a residence at Fabric and also being heavily booked by trendy underground clubs and bars such as The Clinic, Met Bar in London as well as at many different clubs all over the planet, their DJ-Sets are always a very enjoyable journey into the leftfield beats area. Besides dj-ing and producing Jean-Claude works at the shop Release The Groove Records, London’s first address when it comes to quality dance music. There he commands the Jazz and electric beats section, using his assurance and encyclopaedic knowledge to persuade the punters to buy vinyl on his terms. Mark is a dentist with a practice in West London. Born in Iran he sports an unusual haircut and could be described as a chatterbox, were his partner anybody else besides JC. The duo made its first exclusive contribution for Compost for the Future Sounds Of Jazz Vol. 7 compilation last year. For Compost 100 they came up with the terrific track “Guilty As Charged”, which is on side B of this EP. “Guilty As Charged” was reviewed in the essential beats section in Straight No Chaser’s spring issue: “...a 135 bpm psycho-car-chase-breakbeat-journey that kicks off with eerie ambience and a crackly telephone conversation taken from some old gangster flick before the rolling beats hammer in. ...
