Baroness Michelle Mone has admitted she did not tell the truth about her links to PPE firm Medpro, but insisted that she and her husband have “no case to answer”. The company is currently being investigated by the National Crime Agency, while the Department of Health and Social Care has since issued breach of contract proceedings over a 2020 deal on the supply of gowns. But in her first major broadcast interview since the scandal emerged, Lady Mone insisted that lying to the media is “not a crime”. It comes after she admitted she stands to benefit from a deal between the Government and the firm, which was awarded contracts worth more than £200 million to supply personal protective equipment after she recommended it to ministers. TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan and Alex Phillips are joined by former ministerial aide Leon Emirali and deputy leader of Reform UK Ben Habib to discuss the story. Ben says: “Nothing she says now can be taken seriously. She’s a self-admitted liar and there’s no coming back from that!” Click here for more from TalkTV If you need any help visit: #baroness #government #ppe #contracts
