The Ten Commandments.. Although most of us know basically what the Ten Commandments are, today there is still so much confusion surrounding them. Some preachers will preach from their pulpits, that if someone wants to get to Heaven, all they have to do is keep the Ten Commandments. Other preachers preach the exact opposite, saying things like, we shouldn't even strive to keep the Commandments, because that was part of the Old law, and we are now living in the Age of Grace. Still other preachers teach that the commandments are only intended for Israel, and are not meant for the church today. And for many people, the “Ten Commandments“ is simply just the title of a movie, where Charlton Heston freed a bunch of slaves from Egypt at Easter time. But in truth, what are the Commandments, and what do they mean for us as individuals? For us as a people? Or for us as a nation? Could it be that God feels that the Commandments are just as important for today, as the day in which he gave them? And could it be that they are not just for one group of people, but that God intended them for everyone to live by? And for all nations to be governed by? And if these things are the case, is it necessary for us to keep them, in order for us to be saved? Or is it through the Commandments, that God shows us our need of salvation?
