Not nearly as frightening as I thought it'd be... There's excessive use of AI roto using RunwayML - I'm super impressed by it. Can't wait to see how it improves. Mario's base head movements are motion captured using a VR headset. There's additional clean up on top of the mocap, but this still cut down on animation time. Some close up shots of me towards the end are 100% in camera! These were shot in front of an LED TV with my blender scene streaming behind me. After matching the lighting - it worked shockingly well and saved a lot of VFX time. #Mario #supermario64 #mariomovie
