Originally intended for release on April 14th, 2021, I decided it was best to not release on the second day of the month Ramadan. Different songs on the project are critical of religion, and this is not one of them. On this song I sought to personify the act of blasphemy itself, not to actually carry it out in desecration and disrespect. But intent and effect can be two different things. The ensuing project, “Stalin Bollywood,“ is one where I explicitly interrogate and toy with the limits of our golden age of controversy in our culture; where subtlety has decayed in lieu of sensationalism and detached, effaced, misappropriated context. In the title's ridiculous claim I ask: would I be more interesting and attractive to pay attention to if I traded my multi-entendre subtlety for some brazen stupidity? And in this celebrity-influencer culture are we pointlessly asking for nuance and reflection from those who traffic in the very opposite quality? from “Stalin Bollywood&
