More than 25 thousand animals live in the crater, the highest predator density in Africa is observed in Ngorongoro. Especially often on the territory of the crater there are zebras, various types of antelope, such as gazelles, wildebeest and cannes, as well as buffaloes. They are hunted by leopards and prides of lions living in the crater. In addition to large herbivores and predators hunting them, elephants, black rhinoceroses and hippos unusual for these latitudes also live in Ngorongoro. Large flows of animals migrating from the Serengeti also often pass through the territory of Ngorongoro. Since 1951, the Ngorongoro crater is a significant part of the Serengeti National Park, protected by the Tanzanian government, which is trying to solve a number of problems at once: protect local animals from the expansion of pastures and illegal cultivation of agricultural plants, as well as the influx of tourists traveling by car, which negatively affects the region’s ecology. #trip #travel #ngorongoro #tanzania #ser
