Fires raged across northern Israel on Thursday after Hezbollah launched more than 200 rockets and explosive drones towards Israel in retaliation for the killing of a senior Hezbollah commander on Wednesday. Israeli firefighters battled the flames, hoping to stop them from spreading further. This week’s cross-border fire followed months of increasing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah since 7 October. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to the events on Thursday, saying that whoever would harm Israel “will pay the price”.
