City: Philadelphia State: Pennsylvania Neighborhood: Kensington Time of Day: Weekend Morning Shockingly, everything in this video was recorded within a 15 minute period on a Saturday morning at about 7 am. I wasn’t expecting to see many people out at that time of day, so I was somewhat shocked to see how active the streets were. Due to an incident that happened on camera around the 5:50 mark, it was necessary to blur a section of the footage. Kensington has an unfortunate and well-deserved reputation for being one of the largest open air drug markets on the east coast. Although there are numerous charitable organizations and religious groups attempting to assist, the city’s lack of willingness to crack down on the issue has led to the problem to grow. Hopefully city leaders will start to realize that there is nothing compassionate about letting this issue continue and proliferate. #urbandecay #philadelphia #kensington #abandoned #pennsylvania
