In the United States, off the coast of Florida at Coco Beach during the Cocoa Beach Airshow, a Grumman TBM-3U Avenger deck torpedo bomber (serial number 91188, tail number “28“, registration number N108Q) of the Second World War crashed, the pilot made an emergency landing on the water right next to the beach with the public. The 1945-built aircraft is owned by the Florida-based aviation enthusiast organization Valiant Air Command, and after 18 years of restoration work, it was returned to flying condition in January 2020.
