Ukraine has advanced on July 9 on the southern flank near Bakhmut, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar said. She added that the situation on the northern flank near Bakhmut had not changed. At the same time, fierce battles continue in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, she said. According to Maliar, Ukrainian troops are conducting aerial reconnaissance and demining liberated territories. Russia claims its forces struck an air strike on Ukrainian units in the Kupyansk area. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that Joe Biden can end the war in five minutes by ceding Ukrainian territories. Zelensky reiterated that Trump had already had that chance while he was in office. The Russian Embassy in Washington said that the US has admitted to committing war crimes in Ukraine.
