ANZEIGE/AD In today’s episode, I review the brand-new Polaroid I-2, the brand’s first analog instant camera with built-in manual controls, continuous auto-focus and the sharpest lens ever for an instant camera. Overall, the camera offers six different shooting modes ranging from aperture and shutter priority to an auto mode as well as multiple exposures and, of course, a fully manual mode. Interestingly, the Polaroid I-2 supports not just the newer I-type film but also lets you shoot Polaroid 600 and SX-70 films. The camera comes in a beautiful, sleek package that includes a handle strap, a USB-C charging cable, a lens cap and a helpful quick-start guide. The camera appears to be directed at prosumers or ambitious amateurs with a price tag of 699 Euro and 599 USD plus retail tax. I got the chance to take the Polaroid I-2 through its paces prior to its official release and went on two separate photo walks with it in and around Munich with my friends Simon and Jules. You already know Simon’s appreciation of Polaroid cameras from our review of the SX-70 in Zurich and I was curious to get his opinion as well. We shot plenty of Polaroid I-type film in color and black and white. Let’s take a closer look at the camera and the results.
