(9 Sep 2020) ACTOR COLIN FIRTH CELEBRATES 60TH BIRTHDAY ON SEPTEMBER 10 Colin Firth is 60 on Thursday. The British actor was born on 10 September 1960 in Hampshire, England to parents David Firth and Shirley Jean. Firth has enjoyed a fruitful career, receiving many accolades for his performances - perhaps most notably an Academy Award for his portrayal of King George VI in 2010's “The King's Speech.“ He is a versatile actor, straddling comedy, drama and even taking on musical roles - appearing in both “Mamma Mia!“ movies as Harry Bright. His quintessential English accent makes him well suited for period dramas too - he starred in “The Importance of Being Earnest“ as Jack Worthing, and famously as Mr Darcy in the BBC TV adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice.“ He married Italian movie producer Livia Giuggioli in 1997 and the pair have two sons. They announced their separation in 2019. Find out more about AP Archive:
