Purchase my original paintings here: Support me on Patreon: Today I'm painting a simple, loose winter woodland scene with lovely birch trees, and I'm showing you how I paint these light trunks without using masking fluid, just using the wet in wet and then wet on dry technique. I'm using a limited palette of indigo, sepia, burnt sienna, paynes grey and a touch of white gouache at the end, but use any colours you like or prefer! I'm using Saunders Waterford 100% cotton cold pressed 140lb/300g weight paper, 11“ x 15“/28cms x 38cms, my paper is taped to my board with ordinary decorators masking tape and is at an angle of about 45 degrees so gravity will help me paint. I use various brushes as demonstrated in the video, but use whichever brushes you have.
