The stinking corpse Lily has always been one of my favorite flowers, not only because I find its appearance delightful but also because of how fascinating it is as a plant and parasite . The Harvard journal article on it is quite good and I highly suggest the read. I wasn't even able to fit all of the fascinating biological facts I learned about it in this video. I plan on going more into the build itself in a bit of a longer video, but I was too excited not to share this short 😁🌸🪰 So may I present to you a fantastical version of the Rafflesia flower from the flies point of view hehe .(fake fly at the end) (My version is on the smallest end of these flowers. some species of rafflesia get much bigger than what I created) As far as build time, this might have taken me the longest out of all of my personal projects. turns out sewing on individual beads takes a really long time, even if the project is relatively small. 😂 But I absolutely love fiber art so I had a blast (And basically didn't film any of the beading much to editor me's chagrin) The vine in the art piece is braided together strands including bubble wrap fake barbed wire, grocery sacks and gauze. It's attached to the frame with a screw hidden in it to mount the flower piece on so it's technically two independent art pieces that come together. The background music is a track from the services story blocks titled “Bedouin caravan mirage“ #stinkingcorpselily #rafflesia #corpseflower #art #artist #beadedflower #flower #flowerart
