Wim Wenders knew things were coming together during the latter stages of filming Paris, Texas. As he shot the scenes with Nastassja Kinski and Harry Dean Stanton, an estranged husband and wife having a delayed conversation in a peep show, he knew it was working. He knew that his film would connect with people and they would take something home with them. Though the film still didn't have an ending, it had a heart and that was far more important.
