British Troops Go Into Action - Ambush staged by British troops for benefit of cameraman - 1920, Ireland. (GEMMELL & STARMER, ORIG. NEG.) (Footage is not all chronological.) British soldiers (Royal Irish Constabulary; Black and Tans) guarding a garrison; sandbag wall around entrance. Three men in civilian dress approach; guards point rifles at them; they raise their hands. Officer comes out; talks to the men; one of them points off in distance - informants? Soon after; soldiers run out of building; drive off in car; trucks. Next; shot of the vehicles approaching on road; gap in the action here - they must be returning from some skirmish with the Irish Republican Army; because there is a wounded man in 1st car; soldier in next one is waving an Irish flag; which must have just been captured.
