Australia. Australia's iron is obtained from a curious rock formation known as Iron Knob in South Western Australia. Carious shots of the rock known as Iron Knob. LS. The town below the rock to which it has given its name. Several shots of the workers setting fuses in the rock. LS. The rock exploding. Various shots of electric shovel scooping up the broken ore and conveying it to rail trucks. Steam powered ore train travelling through countryside. Long shot of blast furnaces where the ore is processed. Various shots of the men working around blazing furnaces to produce quality 'pig' iron. Various shots of the slow moving white hot liquid iron, ladled into moulds, cooled and removed from moulds and tipped into huge stock piles.
