Part 1 of 2. I bought myself a nice, sensitive Mitutoyo dial indicator. The magnet stand I have is not very stable, and can only be adjusted quite roughly. So I decided to make my own indicator base. Not one of the well known designs, but a compact one that has two working modes and is hopefully stable and well adjustable. See also part 2
