But a few people asked about the inspiration for “Carrion Comfort,” so I tried to write a little something… “Carrion Comfort” was the very last song written for our recent album, inspired by a hundred-year-old poem I came across by Gerard Manley Hopkins. I was immediately struck by the title and how it gave me mixed feelings of warmth and darkness, hope and despair.
