For those who believe driving one of the world's most advanced pickup trucks isn't enough, there's Apocalypse Nirvana This is the Apocalypse Nirvana, essentially a heavily modified and reskinned Rivian R1T with some very different design choices. However, there's more to this custom build than meets the eye, available from odo for $159,990 with less than 300 miles. Here's a brief look at what the Nirvana can do, and we'll let you decide whether it's a bold automotive statement or a blatant show of compensation. According to Florida-based custom shop SoFloCustoms, this custom Rivian has “the doomsday machine looks and the light and fast handling of a sports car.“ There's no doubt the team made sure this looked more like something from a movie or video game than a real-life production car. It's so angular and disjointed that it almost looks like Apocalypse was following the advice of an AI creation website. Additionally, the body features a full Kevlar paint treatment, which the company claims not only gives it a rugged look but also protects against scratches, rust and corrosion, and is supposedly easy to clean. Apocalypse says it took the team approximately nine months to complete the project. The truck is equipped with 38”x15.5” tires mounted on 20”x12” SFJ bronze rims, a handmade roll cage, side steps, and front and rear skid plates designed to protect against a variety of terrain conditions. There is also a massive 52-inch light bar on the roof. In terms of specifications, the Nirvana has a height of 81 inches, a width of 91 inches, and an overall length of 214 inches. It is noteworthy that the customization workshop made significant changes to the vehicle's suspension in order to add an original lifting kit. Although he did not specify the exact height of the lift, he did mention that the truck is equipped with “custom-designed dynamic computer-controlled suspension from top to bottom.“ Speaking to TheDrive, Joe Ghattas, the man behind Apocalypse and its sister company SoFloCustoms, explained that the team had to fabricate various suspension parts to lift the truck. But during the process, they accidentally triggered “a full set of airbags“ because they didn't understand how to lift the truck without starting it. “To be frank, people have their opinions when it comes to electric vehicles, so I had concerns about Apocalypse's take on such a cynical project, but honestly I fell in love with this vehicle from the first moment I sat behind the wheel,“ he said. Ghattas. “Why do EV vehicles have to look de-masculinized, sterile or bland? “This is a great truck, it's time to look and act like it,“ he added. Let's face it, this is already a pretty capable truck when it rolls off the line at Rivian. The model that forms the basis of Apocalypse comes with a motor for each wheel and a total power of 835 hp (622 kW). However, Apocalypse claims that the specific build has 850 hp. In any case, it's capable of rocketing from zero to 60 mph in just three seconds, and thanks to that trick suspension, it corners great, too. Maybe this really is a groundbreaking EV with just the right amount of macho attitude. After all, it is not a problem for a person to use the type of vehicle he wants. But to me, he looks like someone who drove to a car show in his Bugatti Chiron, with a bunch of jewels from Autozone taped to the body panels, but doesn't really understand the irony. Source:
