The band was formed in late spring of 2014 by Daniel Ilyin (electric violin), Denis Melnikov (drums), Oleg Reshetnyak (keyboards) and bassist Pavel Voronezhsky, who joined later. The musicians spent a long time trying to find a good name for the group, which was not an easy task. When participating in various music festivals and concerts, the band performed under different names such as “JazzProm,“ “South Sound Lab (SSL),“ and “Samurai.“ The differences in the name coincided with the period when the group was changing not only musically but also visually. At different times, the group performed with various invited musicians, including Evgenia Alekseeva (percussion), Igor Gavrilyuk (saxophone), Evgeny Popov (guitar), and Harry Prosto (DJ). To play together, the band played cover versions of such outstanding jazz stars as Esborn Svenson Trio, Didier Lockwood, Indigo Jam Unit, Jean Luc Ponty, Avishai Cohan, Sting, Robert Glasper Experiment, and many others. In 2017, the band settled on the final name - Mind Rabbits. From that moment, the group focused on compiling and recording their own material. In 2019, the band recorded an album in a live concert format, Mind Rabbits Live, in the best Sevastopol studio, Seratonin. In summer of 2021, the band recorded their second album, Tools4Lools, an electronic jazz album. Both albums are currently being actively mixed and prepared for release. Meanwhile, Daniel and Denis are releasing Mind Rabbits singles as video clips on YouTube... Enjoy!
