Queensland's death toll has risen to six following severe storms that battered the state's south-east coast over Christmas and Boxing Day. Queensland Premier Steven Miles gave an update on Wednesday in response to the disastrous thunderstorms. “The death toll from the recent storm events has now risen to six with police confirming a third man who was missing has now been found dead,” Mr Miles said. “The thoughts of all Queenslanders are with those families who are grieving right now. “There are 450 energy workers crews out right now trying to reconnect as much power as they can. “There's been 900 powerlines taken down by these storms”. Mr Miles said energy workers have reconnected around 25,000 homes overnight.
