In November 2014 the Casino flying fox colony in Northern NSW went down to heat stress and around 400 babies were rescued from the ground off dead mothers. These bats were transported all over NSW and even to Adelaide, where they were raised till creche age (3 months). Then they needed to be returned to where there are colonies of their own species.
