The last day of Sea to Sky 2021 had its traditional zero altitude mass start at the beach and offered a gnarly route to the ultimate finish line over the clouds on the Mount Olimpos (Lycian). The first row took off at 09:00 AM and Mario Roman led the pack at the first half of the race. His team mate Wade Young got the lead before CP5 and stretched the gap more than four minutes once. Towards the end Mario got his rhythm back and reduced the gap down to one minute at the last check point. From that on to the finish he had Wade in his side from a striking distance and waited for the right moment. At a technical hill climb on the last stretch he gambled ona different line and worked his way to the lead. Mario then got to the chequered flag first by finishing the Mountain Race in 3h26m31s. Because wasn’t able to recover overall damage against his teammate Wade he ended up being P2 on the podium.
