10 Messed Up Simpsons Moments That Went Too Far

Are these messed up Simpsons moments tasteless, or simply in the nature of the series? Subscribe to our channel: The Simpsons has almost thirty years of highs and lows. But some of those lows are pretty dark and messed up, and left us wondering how on earth they made it to the final cut. Some are just insanely disturbing, such as Homer relishing the daydream which seems him offing his own dad! Good thing it was only a dream. There was also the episode where the writers and producers offed a major character simply for shock in the hopes of getting a ratings boost. Street artist Banksy did one of the opening couch gags for the series and made a dark segment on the sweatshops in Asia that help keep the Simpsons’ franchise alive. Both Homer and Moe the Bartender have tried to use the rope on themselves, which is some dark material to see on a PG rated cartoon series. Lisa once got addicted to second hand nicotine smoke when learning the ballet, which goes against everything we know about the character. Principal Skinner was revealed to be an imposter, which kind of ruined the whole character if you think about it. Homer may be a lovable idiot, but in one episode he strapped a bomb to his chest in the middle of town hall. What was he thinking?? There was also an episode featuring Homer dressed up as panda and getting assaulted by a real Panda, who though Homer was a real life lady panda. What were the writers thinking here? For all it’s fun and charming moments, there are some seriously messed up moments that made it to production.
