I'll bet you didn't know that Nile Rodgers produced this one! The theme to the show that introduced us to a charismatic everyman, action star Bruce Willis. Al Jarreau was born March 12, 1940 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Did you know that he earned his Masters in Psychology from the University Of Iowa? He changed his mind and decided to pursue a music career getting his first single in 1976 charting R&B with Rainbow In Your Eyes. He had several more minor hits until 1981 when he got his first real hit with “We're In This Love Together“ peaking at #15 Pop, and #6 R&B. He then scored a #21 pop with with “Mornin'“ followed by his greatest pop moment, the “Theme from “Moonlighting“ produced by Nile Rodgers. Jarreau got the call from Lee Holdridge who was putting together a soundtrack for a pilot with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. He loved Jarreau's work and the pair set about writing a song for the compilation. The song and show exploded in popularity and Jarreau recounts that people all over the world were congratulating him on his achievement. His only regret was that he never met the stars of the show and thought a guest appearance would have enhanced the popularity.
