A well known hornpipe, The Boys of Bluehill goes by various other names and, although associated with the Irish tradition it possibly has a longer history in the Irish community in the USA, where it first appeared in print in 1839. I took a few minutes break from the Bagpipe Society Blowout in Polesworth to sit on the bank of the River Anker (you get a campsite with a view at the Blowout!) and play it on my Huber descant recorder made from bog oak.
