German producer Jack White ventured from schlager into disco in the late 70s when signing to Ariola, but apart from his initial success with Marc Seaberg's Looking For Freedom, none of his following productions on Sandy Powers, Valerie Horton-Brown, Stevie Woods, Linda Susan Bauer or Judy Jackson fared particularly well. Methusalem was a studio project released in 1980, the songs all being 'cosmic disco', an LP that failed to garner much attention at the time but has since become a cult record, fetching sky high prices on vinyl. White recorded the single Shot Down with Linda Susan Bauer early 1981 under the name Empire and reissued the full Methusalem under that name, adding Shot Down and another new song Ooh Dracula to the track list, but to no further success. White's international success finally took off with his productions on Laura Branigan, Audrey Landers and David Hasselhoff during the 80s.
