Oliver Nelson - The Greenhouse Jungle (1972)

Music clips culled from the season 2 television film of “Columbo“ entitled “The Greenhouse Jungle“ in which Jarvis Goodland (actor Ray Milland) drives his Rolls-Royce and leads a police car, with Lt. Columbo (actor Peter Falk) and Sgt. Wilson (actor Bob Dishy) aboard, on a trip from town to countryside to nail the plotter of a kidnapping asking for a ransom. Composer Oliver Nelson writes an arch-motif for these three cues that will be re-arranged in later series as “The Six Million Dollar Man“, especially in the season 2 “Pilot Error“ (1974). Notice the change of musical rendition: at 00:00 a majestic piano popup to highlight the complete motif, at 01:08 the majestic piano returns and at 01:40 a fast tempo steps in followed by the motif at 01:46.
