Mike McCready, born Michael David McCready on April 5, 1966, in Pensacola, Florida, is an American musician and guitarist best known as a founding member and lead guitarist of the rock band Pearl Jam. He is recognized for his soulful guitar playing, melodic solos, and contributions to the band's songwriting. McCready's musical journey began in Seattle, Washington, where he formed Pearl Jam in 1990 alongside Eddie Vedder, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Dave Krusen (later replaced by Dave Abbruzzese and then Matt Cameron).
