The Shenzhou-14 crew aboard China’s space station has finished assembling and testing an environmental control and regenerative life support system inside the Wentian lab module. The system is designed to cope with the long duration of the in-space mission by recycling resources. It contains six subsystems in total, respectively, working on oxygen generation, carbon dioxide removal, toxic trace gas removal, urine handling, water handling and carbon dioxide reduction.
