The 24th of July we launched a weather balloon, hoping it would reach an altitude of at least 27 000meters. And it reached 33 000meters/109 000 feet! Link to the full 4 hour video: balloon bought from here: (600g pawan) parachute: Inside the box was: -Gps Tracker bought from ebay : (know it looks cheap and shitty, but it worked like a charm!) -Cell phone with an app that logged data. This was an old android cellphone. I also installed an app called gps logger, and thats how i got all the altitude information. The information about the trip itself (latitude, longitude) was stored in the cellphone and taken for closer look when we found the balloon. -Gopro hero 3 white edition. (Too bad if you don't like the fisheye leens) -Extra batterypack for gopro. This was also completely necessary, because without it the gopro wouldn't have any power left all the way through the trip. -Hand warmers. This was VERY important. without this, all the electronics would most likely fail, so a couple of handwarmers from your local sports store is a must. (they were even warm when we found the box, after experiencing temperatures as low as -60 C!) We launched the balloon and the box from Verdal, and it landed in Viggja, Norway. The box itself was also 100% waterproof. we used silicone to fill up all the gaps that could be exposed to water. and the electronics inside was also in waterproof bags. since we had to drill a hole through the waterprood casing to the gopro to keep it constant charging with a cable, we had to fill this gap ut with silicone aswell. songs used: Blackmill-Embrace Matisyahu-Sunshine (btw, this is sivrot brother and i just wanted to get some credz because i chose the music, hehe) here is my channel :
