VRIL Directed by Matthew Bennett United States, 2008 Documentary, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Short Synopsis In 1871, under anonymous cover, the writer-politician Edward Bulwer-Lytton published the novella “Vril: The Power of the Coming Race.” The myth of Vril was quickly co-opted and developed by the Thule Society, backed Hitler and the Nazis.
