Ukrainian forces destroy Russian tank duo in massive eruptions

Ukrainian military released drone footage on Sunday (October 22) purportedly showing advancing Russian armoured vehicles exploding near Avdiivka, as Russia intensified pressure on the frontline town. The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces, in its evening report, said Ukrainian forces repelled nearly 20 Russian attacks around Avdiivka, its buildings now largely reduced to shells. Russian air strikes hit nearby villages, it said. Reuters was able to confirm the video's location as Vodiane from the position of the buildings and road seen in the video which matched satellite imagery of the area. Reuters was not able to confirm the date it was filmed. Avdiivka has become a watchword for resistance, viewed as the gateway to recapturing the Russian-held city of Donetsk and the rest of Donbas -- made up of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
