The title Cōātlīcue is the name of an Aztec goddess and is roughly translated into “[she who has] the skirt of snakes“. She is the patroness of life and death and the guide of rebirth. I chose the title and artwork before starting the song, and the two inspired me MASSIVELY while I composed this... Michele Parisi made an incredible and haunting painting here in my opinion. It ended up 15min long and I thought since it's somewhere between music and soundscape it would probably be nicer to loop it a few times to make it into an uninterrupted background ambience.
