This video is from the 1970 film “On monia asioita, joita ei voi ymmärtää“ (“There are many things that cannot be understood“) directed by Carl Mesterton. It features Tove Jansson spending an evening with her friends Erna Tauro, Birgitta Ulfsson, Lasse Pöysti, Gunvor Sandqvist, and Bo Andersson (also her cat Psipsina makes an appearance!) I got this from YLE where it already had the Finnish subtitles and I translated them very poorly into English using mainly Google, so please keep in mind that it's not completely accurate!! I'm sure there'll be a bunch of comments from Finnish & Swedish speakers pointing out all the stuff that's wrong, lol. I ended up using the word “lyrics“ instead of “text“ a lot though really the latter would be more accurate,, sorry. I think the conversations they have are super interesting and I particularly love the one she has with Erna. It took me absolutely ages to edit this and I want other English-speaking Tove fans to appreciate it so I really hope it doesn't get taken down. If so, I'll try uploading it onto drive or something. TIMESTAMPS: 00:00 - Tove & friends talking about her attic studio and her career as an artist, writer, and lyricist 08:04 - Birgitta Ulfsson performing an extract of Konstberiderskan 08:54 - Tove & friends discussing her handwriting (at the end they press her to draw and she asks Lasse to sing; I've posted this clip before and it should show up in a card at this point) 11:49 - Bo Andersson performing an extract of Si-och-Så Visan 12:50 - Tove & Erna talking about composing songs 23:29 - Lasse Pöysti performing an extract of Psykofnattvisan 24:28 - Bo Andersson performing an extract of Höstvisa
