On May 25th, 1995, Syracuse's own Earth Crisis released one of the most influential hardcore records of all time, “Destroy the Machines.“ Not only was it a landmark ideologically, with songs about straight edge, veganism, animal liberation, and ecodefense, but sonically the ripple effects of the debut LP can still be felt in hardcore today. I caught up with vocalist Karl Buechner to see how he felt about the record all these years later.
