Moscow’s Red Square hosted its annual military parade on May 9 Thousands of Russian soldiers representing different military branches as well as army vehicles and weapon systems formed an eye-catching display in commemoration of the 79th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. Over 9,000 individuals marched across Red Square, including crews from military schools, Youth Army members, female military personnel, Cossacks and a combined military orchestra. Decorated officers and soldiers from Russia’s special military operation zone also took part in the parade. Standing out among the military equipment that traversed the iconic square were the legendary Soviet T-34 tank of WWII vintage, Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S-400 air defense systems and Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles.
