I feel like this is the most ridiculous question, creative director Brian Hayes said. Why put Bruce Lee in a UFC game? It's. Bruce. Lee... You have the premier organization in the fastest growing sport in the world, the UFC; and the most iconic martial artist in the history of the world, Bruce Lee - a martial artist renowned for his philosophies that laid the groundwork for modern mixed martial arts. I can't conceive of a universe where bringing these two things together doesn't make sense. I know there are going to be countless fans that feel the exact same way and they will be eager play with such a legend in the UFC Octagon. I am one of them. EA worked with Bruce Lee Enterprises, which provided the development team with digital references spanning Lee's acting career. This also included behind the scenes shots that helped the team identity the specific era it wanted to capture, as well as the detail of his face and body. A real bonus was the life-cast they sent us that gave us a truly definitive three-dimensional reference that would prove to be the next best thing to having Bruce scanned, art director Ian Lloyd said. BRUCE LEE STEPS INTO THE OCTAGON IN EA SPORTS UFC Seeing Bruce Lee walkout and enter the Octagon to fight in the UFC for the first time is a surreal and truly sensational experience, he continued. It is hard to deny the influence he has had on the development of MMA and ultimately the UFC. This does not just look like Bruce Lee. It is Bruce Lee. The way he carries himself, his fighting stance, his rippling physique, devastating speed, signature strikes and accompanying yells, whoops and shrieks. We have summoned this pinnacle of human strength, speed and spirit into our world and it has truly been an honour and a career highlight for us to do so.“ “I am so excited about this opportunity to bring my father back to videogames!” said Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter, CEO of Bruce Lee, LLC and Chairperson of the Bruce Lee Foundation. “I’m thrilled that fans can now interact with him in a new way. The EA SPORTS UFC development team has been incredible to work with, and they've done a great job capturing the look and feel of my father. I think people will love getting a chance to fulfill a fight fantasy by playing Bruce Lee in the new UFC game.” “There’s no debate, Bruce Lee is the father of mixed martial arts,” said Dana White, UFC President. “He believed not one style of fighting was the best and that you had to have a little piece of everything to be a complete fighter. He was proven right when the first UFC event took place in 1993.” 🐲 Bruce Lee UFC - 👊 Bruce Lee (EA Sports UFC 3) - 🔥 Bruce Lee (EA Sports UFC 2) - #brucelee #bruceleeufc #dragonfights
