Claude Debussy’s “The Girl With the Flaxen Hair” is a favorite of mine going back to my teenage years. It was the first time I ever heard a piece anything like it and I was hooked on the sweet impressionistic sound. The music is based on a poem by Leconte de Lisle. Originally composed for piano, it’s been adapted for ensembles of every sort. Here’s my arrangement for brass quintet, featuring the cornet/trumpet. Sheet music may be found at… Thanks to my colleagues for their always excellent work. Thanks also to for their continued support!
