I invited the folks at Blue Robotics to come up to Santa Barbara and do some testing with their BlueROV2 at depth, connected to my towed camera sled. I re-configured the sled to allow the ROV to plug directly into the sleds tow cable and give the ROV about 150' of radius to freely roam the bottom around the sled. We tested at 380' and 1050' with good results. After some additional mods to the setup and more testing, this system should have a lot of potential for use as an extremely low cost, easy to depl
