London. Royal Engineers diving team who are experts in river reconnaissance and demolition are seen in training for an experiment in underwater living. We see a diver preparing to dive - putting on a huge diving helmet. He goes down into a tank and is seen using underwater welding tool. Another diver - this time in more modern diving gear - tight wet suit and rubber helmet - jumps into the tank. A message is chalked onto a window in the tank - has to be written back to front so the diver can read it from inside. Diver takes off his mask and floats to the top. A new perspex bubble is demonstrated at the London boat show. This has been made to show how people could live underwater. We see Pathe cameraman Stan Goozee getting ready to go underwater to film the bubble. Various shots of a man inside the perspex bubble. We can see people swimming around outside. Lunch is delivered by another diver. A big plastic bag of sandwiches. “Boy in the Bubble“ tucks in. Cuts exist - see separate records
