Galapagos: Enchanted Archipelago is a short travel film/documentary, directed and produced by William Singer, on the Galapagos Islands and—to a much lesser degree— Ecuador. The film opens with shots of great frigatebirds (00:09), Galapagos land iguanas (00:52; 02:30), Galapagos tortoise (01:02), and the Galapagos fur seal. A map provides an overview of the islands, and an aerial shot gives an even better view (03:21). Visitors can fly in on a plane (03:40) from Ecuador, then tour the islands on luxury yachts or small cruise ships, which enable them to visit isolated beaches (04:05) in pristine coves. People on a small motor boat pass through seals on their way to land, where they watch land iguanas (06:15), pelicans, and gray gulls (07:10). A man feeds a land iguana (07:25). Seals (07:36) bark while relaxing on rocks. A giant tortoise (08:12) at Charles Darwin Station at Academy Bay is photographed. A woman holds baby tortoises. Lava lizards (08:50) are a favorite for visitors to the island. Tower Island is home to the frigatebirds (10:14; 10:40), red-footed boobies (11:05), and Darwin finches. Isla Santa Maria is home to flamingos (12:40), but their populations are decreasing, and they are largely left alone. Visitors must stop at the famous Post Office Barrel at Post Office Bay (13:30). On Hood Island (14:04), visitors find the Galapagos Albatross, as this island is the only place where they nest. A baby booby watches a tourist photograph wildlife (14:51). Porpoises, pelicans, and seals swim in the blue waters just off the coast of Hood Island. Isla Fernandina is home to sea lions, seals (17:06), penguins (19:35), flightless cormorants (18:01), and a massive colony of marine iguanas (18:18). Visiting mainland Ecuador affords tourists the chance to meet Colorado Indians (20:10) in Santo Domingo, watch the annual bull fights of Quito (20:41), explore streets and markets, relax at the beaches near Salinas, and enjoy the fiesta Quito (22:00).
